Tweaking Recipes and Using Local In Stock Produce
Aloha ALOL Ohana!
There is no doubt that most of us know that cooking at home is cheaper
and generally better for most of us.
What you might need to remember is that some of those fancy recipes require things that are not locally in stock at the general grocery store and that you have to go to a specialty store to get some of the
ingredients.
One of the ways to save money, time, and gas from all that running around is to substitute what is locally available for ingredients that are too pricey or hard to find. An example would be using a lower grade or different sausage when a recipe calls for something more exotic. Another example is using a local cucmber instead of the Japanese cucumber in a recipe.
If you are trying to be creative and yet stay in a budget, using local produce and products is a sensible choice.
Happy Mother's Day Weekend and Blessings!
